Setting Up Shop…Again

CONSTRUCTION: In 2021 I set up plans to convert my car port into a garage for the purpose of setting up my print studio quite literally in house. It has been quite a journey. Took maybe about a year, give or take. Here are some pictures of the process.

VISION + HISTORY: I had previously printed in Stockton for about 6 years. It is fun to look back over the pictures of where and how it started, compared to today. Screen printing can be sorta gnarly, there is constant a battle to keep your work space clean. Every job you print you are working with ink, and ink can be messy. I’m not going to go into reclaiming screens, but that also has been fun to learn and do over the years. (Sarcasm) My original vision was and continues to be, simply, to put art on to shirts. That’s it. To me screen printing is an amazing art form, and creative outlet. There is also battle to try and remain dedicated and consistent to that end, that every print is a piece of art. When I begin to drift away from this, I can feel it, and I don’t like it.
